William Home is a consulting arborist and the man behind Dr Treegood®. He writes his own reports and oversees the crew that carries out the work, so his advice is tested on real sites every day. His reports follow the Australian Standards and, for court work, the expert witness code of conduct.

About William
William Home has spent more than 35 years with Sydney's trees, beginning with a four-year apprenticeship at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.
His work spans some of Sydney's best-known projects. He preserved mature fig trees through the Sydney Harbour Tunnel build, transplanted two mature fig trees at Sydney Olympic Park, worked on the Sydney Opera House car park, and was head arborist consultant for Parramatta Stadium and the Powerhouse Museum. Early in his career he worked in the US with Bartlett Tree Experts, and he is a founding member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Australian Chapter. His consulting has taken him as far as Shanghai, the Philippines and Scotland.
Today he advises public bodies such as Sydney Water, developers, builders, architects and designers, strata committees, estates and private homeowners. He is a regular expert witness in the NSW Land and Environment Court on tree disputes and development applications, including the widely reported Rose Bay harbour-view case.
And because he founded Dr Treegood in 1990, the arborist who writes your report also oversees the work.
