Root mapping that cleared the way for a new driveway
Seven council eucalypts along the boundary and a new house going in. A 14-metre root mapping trench found only two structural roots, so the driveway could go ahead with the trees protected.

A new driveway between three council brush boxes
Two driveways becoming one beside three council brush boxes. We set the protection zones the drawings had to show and the root mapping the new driveway needed.

Building beside a neighbour's landmark jacaranda
An 18-tree assessment for a Kirribilli development, built around protecting the neighbour's jacaranda, the most significant tree on the street.

A roof rebuild beside a fig on a sandstone shelf
A second-storey roof rebuild beside a neighbour's Port Jackson fig. We showed the fig's roots don't reach through the sandstone, protected two junipers, and planned 2 m of clearance pruning off the house.

Rebuilding around a 22-tree garden
Before a major rebuild we assessed every tree, kept eleven behind proper protection, and cleared out the weeds and declining trees.

A redesign that gave three big trees room
We measured how much of each tree's root area the new basement would take. The amended design cut that by as much as three quarters, and the canopy pruning from about a third to about a ninth.

Room for the piling rig, and the lilly pilly stays
New apartments with a basement and balconies beside a mature lilly pilly. We mapped the roots and marked every branch to cut, so the build could start with the tree kept.
